Safety plays an important role
A marquee will shelter you from the rain and the sun and create a practical and cosy setting for most events. When having a party or any other kind of event in a marquee, never forget that safety plays an important part. With one or more of our Safety Packs, you can secure your marquee with storm straps and ground pegs to avoid unpleasant surprises and even accidents. If you read the Safety Advice in our shop you will see that we always recommend that you secure your marquee at all times – even when the weather forecast is great. A marquee is for partying and celebrations - so be sure to make the structure safe by using one or more of our Safety Packs. It is only a fraction of the budget, and by fastening the marquee, you can make sure that everybody will enjoy the event safe and sound.
Safety packs to secure your marquee in bad weather
Never raise your marquee in bad weather – or if it is going to turn bad. Even in fine weather, you should secure your marquee with a Safety Pack containing storm straps and ground pegs. By securing your marquee with a Safety Pack, you do not have to worry about the weather unless there is a storm coming. In general, we simply recommend that you make it a rule to secure your marquee every time you put it up – use your storm straps and ground pegs so nobody gets hurt.
Even though a marquee is a heavy, stable and secure structure, it may lift or turn over in case of too much wind. In that case, people can get hurt and things may be broken. Furthermore, if you chose not to secure your marquee, the insurance company may not cover the possible damages. That is one more reason to strap down your marquee every time you put it up. Use the ground pegs to secure the storm straps or tie the storm straps to something stable and sturdy – do not underestimate the forces of nature.
