Make your gazebo safe
We always recommend that you fasten your garden gazebo to the ground or foundation with ground anchors or similar. Especially the light gazebos, but even a light wind can have surprisingly force and move even large and heavy objects. Whether you have placed your garden gazebo on the ground, on flagstones, or on a wooden deck, you can secure the structure so it is safe even in bad weather. If the weather forecast gives warnings about storms, you can do even more to secure the gazebo by strapping down the structure using our Safety Packs containing storm straps and ground plugs. Furthermore, you must remove loose objects in the garden and on the patio as these objects may harm the gazebo if they are thrown about by the wind. In general, you should take down the sidewalls, curtains, and mosquito nets in case of bad weather!
We offer different kinds of garden gazebos and most of them are made for permanent use outside. However, some of our gazebos are only meant for interim use and therefore not made for permanent use. If you know that there is bad weather coming, do not pitch our pop-up gazebos as they are light and can be turn over by even a light wind. Again, make sure that you and your guests are safe by fastening the structure using storm straps and more.
In our Safety Advice we write the following:
Important! In the case of heavy rain and wind, the soft roof cover and sidewalls of your garden gazebo should be removed to avoid damages. Damages caused by heavy wind and rain are not covered by the warranty. Furthermore, soft roof covers, sidewalls, and mosquito nets must always be removed before the winter! Make sure that the fabric is dry before takedown and folding!
