Greenhouses for urban farming

Urban farming has become a significant trend with people in cities worldwide growing food right where they live or nearby. We may sell most of our greenhouses to families with a garden somewhere. However, we also sell many mini-greenhouses and nurseries to people living in apartments with a balcony or maybe even a rooftop terrace. We are also proud to supply many city dwellers with all sorts of greenhouses as they come together to grow food together with other people. It can be in an empty lot somewhere, part of a public park, or a yard connected with a building with apartments where the residents come together to grow food in raised garden beds or inside a greenhouse or two.

Growing organic food together with others

That is the magic of having a greenhouse or a raised bed – that you can grow almost anything simply by having some good soil, some plants, and water. It would help if you were where the sun is shining as it is the sun's warmth that does the most magic. Whether you are just you or a group of people who want to experience the pleasure of growing vegetables or flowers in the city, you should start by finding a spot big enough for a greenhouse. Our mini greenhouses and raised garden beds with a cover will do nicely on a balcony, but if you are more than one family, you need a little more room. Many schools and other institutions also chose to buy a greenhouse to teach the students to grow food.

Living in a city can sometimes make you a stranger to nature. Having a project like a greenhouse will open your eyes to the wonders of growing things. Just having a few seeds and making a lot of food is almost magical even though it is the most natural thing. Furthermore, you can have chickens in our elegant chicken coops so you can have fresh, organic eggs every morning. It takes a little more effort to take care of living creatures, but it is a lot of fun.

Having a mobile greenhouse

If you do not have a permanent place to have a greenhouse and more, you can make a mobile greenhouse to disassemble and move to another location next season. Build your frame and cover it with our sturdy greenhouse film – or order one of our light and affordable polytunnel greenhouses, which can be moved quite quickly at the end of the season. By having a more mobile greenhouse, you can set up almost anywhere. If you are offered an abandoned lot somewhere in the city, we recommend checking the soil on the lot before you use it for growing vegetables and similar edible produce. The ground may be polluted. If you have any doubts, use our raised flower beds with some fresh soil inside, and you will be fine. You will be amazed how positive an experience it can be to grow things together with other people getting to know people where you live.
