In the garden you can enjoy the evening and night in front of a bonfire inside the cosy shelter protected from the falling dew and maybe a little rain. Having a shelter is a great way to escape from the hustle and bustle and spend some quality time – alone or together with friends and family. Kids will love this shelter as they can use it as a hut during the day and spend the night if they dare – the night outside can be frightfully dark sometimes. Put a lot of blankets and pillows inside the shelter and decorate it with cosy fairy lights or enjoy the night looking at the stars in complete darkness.

Shelter as a wonderful DIY-project

Start by ordering the sturdy and durable shelter with or without roofing felt. You receive the shelter as an easy DIY-project as some of the parts are already assembled or cut. However, you do need to work a little but we promise you it will be worth your while! Your family will love this hide-out and you will be spending a lot of time outside from now on. Before you can start decorating the shelter with blankets and more, we recommend that you start by placing the legs of shelter on flagstones or pole shoes to avoid the wood getting in direct contact with the soil. Even though larch wood is strong and durable, damp soil will deteriorate the wood sooner than necessary. Another solution is to build a patio and place the shelter on it – then you have a patio in front of the shelter and avoid mud right outside the shelter. Just be sure to make room for a bonfire!

The shelter is made of Danish high-quality larch wood, which has a natural protection so you do not have to use wood protection. However, the wood will turn grey is you do not treat it. Use some transparent wood protection or oil and keep the hue of the wood beautiful for much longer. On the other hand, many prefer the unique grey colour of the weathered larch wood so it is up to you. As a minimum you should use an eco-friendly fungicide to avoid rot and fungal infestation.
